Semi-protected edit request on 8 September 2018[edit]

Add https://www.audiusa.com/ to url link 72.73.103.178 (talk) 10:03, 8 September 2018 (UTC)

Not done: The audi.com address is the main portal which automatically diverts site visitors to the appropriate sub-site as determined from their location specified by whichever browser they use (if the browser is set to announce such information).  spintendo  12:33, 8 September 2018 (UTC)

Searched: Commercial from Audi A7/S7/RS7 mocking Mercedes-Benz CLS, circa 2013.[edit]

Two people were meeting for golfing but into the CLS, the golfing equipment did not fit into the back of the CLS car. "F*ck" said the CLS driver.

The A7/S7 driver was younger. He pridefully (orchestral music playing?) stepped into his Audi and watched the screen unfolding.

The Audi S7 driver, at the end, was somehow made unconscious by the CLS driver by a neck grip.

I am no longer able to find the said commercial on YouTube. What was the name of that commercial?

Translation of 'Vorsprung'[edit]

Note: Previous discussion of this at Talk:Audi/Archive 1 § Vorsprung?

Hello! The translation of "Vorsprung" to "Progress" is not correct. "Progress" in german would be "Fortschritt", whereas "Vorsprung" means "advance", "lead", or "head start". (Source). I will not change the article now, I leave it to the native speakers to decide which is the most appropriate term. Greetings --Maelcum (talk) 12:13, 18 December 2018 (UTC)

I agree. "Progress" is definitely a mistranslation. I'd translate it as "leadership through technology". That's as close as it gets without becoming wordy. I found a number of different translations by professional translators, so I don't think there is something like an expert consensus translation we could cite, or one that states the lack of consensus in the literature. But we should at least try to find a source that states the problem with the mistranslation. Paradoctor (talk) 11:59, 23 September 2019 (UTC)
